PPC or Pay Per Click
PPC or Pay Per Click marketing is a type of advertising that allows advertisers to pay only when their ad is clicked on by an online user. Where your organic listings are based on how well your site is optimized, Pay per click advertising can generate traffic right away. Search engines such as Google and Bing offers pay per click advertising, which is available on an auction basis where the highest bidder typically earns the most prominent & frequent placement.
You buy adverts from places like Google or Bing based on internet search terms (keywords) which show at the top of the search pages. The amount of times your advert will show is based on the following:
- How many other people are competing for that keyword
- What budget per impression you have set - it's an auction, so the higest bidder gets more placement.
- How common your keyphrase is, the more common a search, the more it will show in theory, but there will also ve more competition for a common keyword
